Tribute to Mandela

July the 18th,
The day a legend was born.
Some call him Madiba,
Others took him as a thorn.

Robben Island speaks of his resilience,
How he suffered for his people.
Mandela Day is a meagre recognition,
For his perseverance to fight evil.

His children didn’t enjoy the paternal love,
For he was fulfilling dreams of other children.
He fought injustice with insurmountable courage,
Thus, the whites took him as a villain.

But he was all about love,
For he believed it comes to humans naturally.
He forgave the wrongdoers,
And sought the matter affably.

Xhosas are forever proud,
For you’ve immortalized their community.
But you never believed in grouping,
Because you were all about UNITY.

The world needs you Mandela,
It is in shambles.
Come back dear Mandela,
Free us from hatred’s shackles!

Spreading love and being grateful for everything God has blessed me with. Trying to persuade people to live a happy life and give more to society.
